NEWMARKET COMMUNITY EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Linda Bergeron - Linda has resided in Newmarket for 17 years. She is married and has two sons in the Newmarket Jr/Sr High School. She has worked as a paraprofessional in the Special Education Department of the Newmarket Elementary School for three years. Prior to that, she worked as a legal assistant for 15 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in the field of Family and Consumer Science from the University of New Hampshire. Linda volunteers with the Rockingham Land Trust as a land steward and is an Assistant Scoutmaster with the Newmarket Boy Scout Troop.
Heidi Chase - Heidi has lived in Newmarket for 20 years and is the mother of two boys who attend the Newmarket Jr/Sr High School. Heidi has a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from UNH. She is currently the Executive Director of the Friends Project, which creates inclusive social and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities. Heidi has volunteered in Newmarket over the years in different capacities, including collaborating with parents, school personnel and the recreation department on projects addressing inclusive recreation.
Jodi Cote - Jodi is a mother of two Newmarket Elementary School children. She has resided in Newmarket for eight years and is originally from Ohio. Jodi is a member of the Huesman Heart Foundation. Jodi has worked at a Mortgage Company for the last eight years. Jodi has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toledo.
Laurie Hounam - Laurie and her husband have resided in Newmarket for 14 years and have two school age children. She is currently a child care provider for several local families. She enjoys giving back to the community by coaching Newmarket youth soccer and youth basketball, as well as volunteering at the Newmarket Recreation Department. She is a volunteer coordinator for the elementary school. Laurie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical education from Salem State College in Massachusetts.
Alison Leahy - After earning her Bachelor of Arts in English at UNH, Alison settled in the seacoast area. She has resided in Newmarket for the past 13 years. She worked as a portfolio administrator for a finance company for five years and is currently employed at a public relations firm where she has worked for 11 years. Alison is the director of human resources, oversees MIS and is also involved in client relations. She is a mother of three Newmarket Elementary School-aged children. She volunteers for the Newmarket Cub Scouts and has been a Den Leader for three years.
Elizabeth Valinski - Elizabeth is a parent of three school age children and is currently working at Newmarket Elementary School as a classroom assistant. Prior to that, Elizabeth worked as an accountant for 15 years and worked in various capacities as an arts & crafts instructor. Elizabeth has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Pace University in New York.
Marjke Yatsevitch - Marjke has lived in Newmarket for 5 years. After earning her BA in English at UNH, Marjke worked in the field Early Childhood Education for several years before becoming a mother, herself. She has volunteered for many organizations and events that she feels strengthen communities: focusing attention on education, literacy, arts, and conservation. Marjke received her M.Ed. in Secondary Education from UNH this past May and now teaches English at Oyster River High School in Durham.
